Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for “hope”

Welcome my friends to 2022! I’m calling this the year of hope. We have had enough of everything else for a while I think! Let’s look at different ways to say “hope” for the future:

• Optimism/optimistic – I’m optimistic about 2022. I think we will have much more normal lives soon.

• Confidence – I am confident we can begin to socialise and make friends soon.

• Faith – I have faith that we will have a new beginning this year.

• Trust – I trust in the natural way that life returns to normal again after a while.

• Believe – I believe in our ability to work together to rebuild our lives.

• Assurance – I am assured that wonderful things are coming to us all.

• Conviction – I have great conviction that brilliant things can happen even in terrible times.

Even in the most difficult of times we can be surprised with the beauty we find. 2021 was not a fun year for anyone, but I met the love of my life. I will always love 2021 for that reason. What could happen for you in 2022?
