Christopher Wright

Chris Wright was born in Thailand to a British father who has lived in Thailand for over thirty years, and to a Thai mother who speaks fluent English. Ever since he was born, he has had the great opportunity of mastering both English and Thai, as his father is an English teacher, and his mother taught him his Thai. Not only is he completely bilingual in both English and Thai, Chris’s upbringing has given him the chance to live and learn both the Western culture and the Thai culture because he has lived in Thailand, as well as abroad (England), his parents encouraged him to embrace both cultures from when he was still very young, and he studied in top international schools in Thailand from kindergarten to university (Bangkok Patana School, Ruamrudee International School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mahidol International University) which enabled him to meet and study with children and teachers from around the world in a multi-cultural environment.

Chris started teaching English as a part-time teacher at language schools around Bangkok during the weekends when he was still a student at University. After he graduated, he decided to be a full-time teacher. Chris has been an English lecturer and teacher at several private universities in Bangkok, teaching courses such as Business Communication, Translation and Interpretation, English for Hotels and Tourism, and General English Listening and Speaking. He has also conducted various training programs for many international companies in courses such as Effective English Business Presentations, Team Building in International Companies, Cross Cultural Management for International Companies, and Effective Business English Communication for Thais. Another role that he plays now is as the organizer and MC of Nation Junior’s (Nation Newspaper) Road show and Nation Junior’s Spelling Bee, edutainment programs that visits Thai high schools and teaches and encourages students to like and see the importance of English. Not only is he a teacher, trainer, and MC, he is also an author. He has just written two edutainment books called “Farang Kao Jai, Kon Thai Get” part 1 and part 2 (only in Thai unfortunately). These books are about the problems of Thai people with learning and speaking English, basically answering a question that most people, both Thai and Farangs love to ask, “Why can’t Thais speak English after all their years of learning it in school and at college?”. Chris has also written an English speaking and listening textbook with a listening CD, designed especially for Thais.
